Crude Fish & Insect Oil Storage Tank

Heavy-duty insulated crude fish oil and insect lipid storage tanks featuring bottom steam heating coils, nitrogen blanketing, and automated bulk road-tanker loading pumps.

Serves: Fishmeal & Fish Oil Insect Protein (BSFL)

Product Overview

The Crude Fish & Insect Oil Storage Tank is a large-volume vertical storage and bulk loading reservoir engineered for clarified fish oil and insect lipids. Featuring bottom steam heating coils, nitrogen blanketing ports, and sampling taps, it preserves lipid quality and prevents oxidation.

Key Features

  • Industrial-grade steel structure for continuous 24/7 duty
  • PLC / HMI control options for stable process parameters
  • Designed for insect meal lines; configurable for other protein plants
  • Factory installation guidance and spare-parts support

Working Principle & Structure

Pure clarified oil discharged from disc separators is pumped into the storage tank. Low-pressure steam coils maintain the oil at 35–45°C during cold seasons to prevent stearin solidification. An automatic tanker loading pump transfers bulk oil directly into export road tankers or ISO tank containers.

FAQ

How does the storage tank prevent fish oil acidity (AV) from rising?
By maintaining airtight nitrogen blanketing, complete moisture-free separation, and low-temperature thermal control, fat hydrolysis and oxidation are halted.
Is heating necessary for insect lipid storage?
Yes, BSFL insect oil has a higher lauric acid melting point (~30°C) and requires mild heating in temperate regions to stay pumpable.
Can we monitor oil inventory remotely in real-time?
Yes, integrated 4-20mA radar level transmitters and digital temperature probes connect to your plant DCS/SCADA system.
